Operating out of London & Edinburgh, Shadowhouse Films deliver fan-favourite genre films and series internationally.  The company was founded by BFI Insight producer Douglas Cox in 2017

Their ground-breaking debut feature was 2020’s smash-hit-horror, HOST.  Helmed by director Rob Savage, the film was created entirely during the first UK lockdown and premiered on Shudder to rave reviews. It maintains a rare 100% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, was recently declared the ‘Scariest Film Ever According to Science’ (yes really) and nominated for three British Independent Film Awards, including a Breakthrough Producer nod for Douglas.

Their current slate includes an original series from Kate Herron(SEX EDUCATION, LOKI) and Briony Redman, co-produced with Dominic Buchanan and Bennett McGee’s new vehicle Home Team; a trio of horror films with director Rob Savage(HOST), produced by Cox alongside Jason Blum as part of a 3-film deal with Blumhouse Productions; a classic teen/horror adventure series by Screen Star of Tomorrow Mustapha Kseibati and Welsh BAFTA Winner Keri Collins as well as a darkly comedic original series set in Victorian Liverpool by Marley Morrison(SWEETHEART) and Sophia Di Martino(LOKI), co-produced with Michelle Antoniades’ Hazey Jane Films.

As part of their commitment to finding and celebrating new voices, they also have a range of debut features in development with some of the UK’s brightest filmmakers: RAZOR, an atmospheric crime drama written & directed by Peter Marsden and produced alongside David Brown’s Gallus Films; THE STILL MAN, a chilling supernatural horror, written by David Scullion, directed by Emily Greenwood and produced in partnership with Jude Goldrei’s Lunar Lander Films; and MERMAID X, an off-beat Comedy/Sci-Fi, written by KT Roberts and directed by Jo Lewis.

Shadowhouse Films have recently completed work on Rob Savage’s DASHCAM, their first collaboration with US horror giants Blumhouse Productions.  Indiewire called it “A wildly unhinged cinematic invention” after sold-out, raucous festival screenings at TIFF’s Midnight Madness where it placed runner-up in the audience awards, BFI LFF and Sitges.  It has since been picked up for distribution by Momentum and was released theatrically in summer 2022.
